Ireland has many lakes and beaches. They are more than hundred in count and I even don’t care to count them. County Clare At A Glance

County Clare is the 8th largest county of Ireland. It is the perfect vacations spot for springs. Clare Island is the place you must visit to get a memorable experience. There are many hot spots in the county and each has its own unique history, whether these are the old churches or the castles or the beautiful islands.  You will have a new experience at every spot in Clare.
Down in County Clare, walking toward your first look at the much photographed Cliffs of Moher, you get a breathtaking view of the 8 km stretch of cliffs that drops 200 meters into the icy blue Atlantic. With the creamy froth of the waves at their feet, sea birds all around, and the green of Ireland as a backdrop, the Cliffs of Moher have been formed over centuries by layers of siltstone, shale and sandstone. They rise from Hag's Head in the south and reach their highest point (214 meters) just north of O’Brien’s Tower.
Nearby is the village Doolin which is famous for its traditional music and three pubs, four hostels, dozens of B&Bs, several restaurants and music shops. It has a great reputation for its music but has spoiled somewhat with the modernization.
The River Shannon runs through this area with the beautiful Lough Derg, one of the oldest places of Christian pilgrimage in the world, at its southern end. Bunratty Castle-A Must Visit Place in Clare

Bunratty castle is the live example of medieval age architecture. It is one of the famous tourist spots of Ireland. If you have interest in history and ancient architectures then surely you gonna love this place. It has a lot of things for you to explore. Bunratty castle has a long and unique history. I think it is the only castle of Ireland that has faced attacks and wars continuously for 21 years.  The first stone was lead by Thomas de Clare in 970 and since then the town had grown steadily.

The worst attack that castle had faced was in 1318 when the town and castle was completely destroyed. But later in 1332 it was re-constructed for the King of England. After that too it faced many wars until it came in Irish hands in 1353. In 1425 ‘The MacNamara family' completed the present structure, and in 1954 Bunratty Castle was restored to its former medieval grandeur that it is today.

In Bunratty you can also enjoy banquet but in summer seasons only. There are two sitting times viz: 5.30p.m. and 8.00p.m. You will definitely enjoy the royal treatment that you will receive as soon as you reach the castle. At the arrival you will be greeted by a pipe-piper and then you will lead your way to the entrance of the castle. Then you cross the drawbridge to reach the drinking reception where you can enjoy some of the oldest wines and the butler will introduce you with the history of the castle. The food is accompanied by the traditional songs and instrumental.

The folk park in the vicinity of the castle is also a beautiful place to visit. It is like the early 19 century roads having historical cottages and buildings that include a post office, hardware store, school, Doctors office, pubs.

The Bunratty castle is also a must place to visit. It is a beautiful place that supplies fruits, vegetables and flowers to the Bunratty house. It is like one of the Victorian type garden.

Limerick is a very beautiful city with Shannon in its vicinity. Shannon and Limerick has a lot to offer you. Here are some of the famous places that you should visit while in Limerick:

Let your journey begin by exploring King John’s castle. It is on the bank of river Shannon that ads to the beauty of the place. This castle is the most distinguishable building of the city. This 800 year old fortification was built in the early 1200's and its Anglo-Norman architecture is as stunning as ever today. This will take back you in that period giving you a special experience.
